In a dimly lit parking lot, with the car running, keeping the engine warm - Danica rolls her fingers against the corrugated wheel of her lighter - flick - she lights her low menthol cigarettes and takes a deep inhale and then a long exhale - Relaxing her. The faint blue tint of light coming from the lamps mesmerizes Danica, like moths to light. Sunrise is in an hour or so, and she doesn’t want to miss the cool sea breeze blowing in from the Pacific, before the harsh sun of Pacifica’s summer radiates on to her. - Clack! - the distinct sound of an old classic door closing as Danica jumps in “Lena”. Ignition on her left side, unique compared to other vehicles. As she turns the key Lena’s dashboard lights up and a roar is let out from her engine behind. Danica wiggles the manual shifter and pushes it into first gear.
